Optimum file resolution for output is 150 pixels per inch (ppi) at 100% print size.
| Image size (inches) | Resolution (pixels per inch) | File Size (RGB) | File Size (CMYK) |
| 8x10 | 150 ppi | 5.15 MB | 6.87 MB |
| 16x20 | 150 ppi | 20.6 MB | 27.5 MB |
| 22x28 | 150 ppi | 39.7 MB | 52.9 MB |
| 30x40 | 150 ppi | 77.2 MB | 103 MB |
Optimum file resolution for most output is 150 pixels per inch (ppi) at 100% print size.
Resolution for inFusion™ printing can be as low as 72ppi for most fabrics.
Smooth fabrics with a high thread count will hold greater detail than softer knit materials.
If you are unsure of what resolution to use, images of 150ppi or better are suitable for all printing methods.
What are “print ready” PDF files?
If a PDF is submitted the file MUST BE set up in a CMYK workspace.
Print ready PDFs (Portable Document Format) are the preferred format for “open and print” projects. Because these files are created with all resources necessary to achieve final printing without any modifications, there are no setup fees involved. Files sent to us that are not print ready PDFs, or that require color correction, and/or multiple proofing cycles are subject to a one-time setup fee of $55 and material costs on any extra proof prints.
CMYK or RGB?
CMYK is preferred. Image quality may be affected if RGB is used.
If a PDF is submitted the file MUST BE set up in a CMYK workspace.
What if my files need color correction?
Color corrections and substitutions can be made during the production process, but there are limitations. Pantone color matching applies only to vector art contained within the files provided to us. Raster (i.e., pixels or bitmap) images can be altered in a global sense (overall tones, contrast, etc.), but not with the same precision that can be made with vector graphics. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have questions regarding the ideal parameters required for quality results.
